PhD thesis: Stress-Responsive Molecular Systems in Freshwater Mollusks under Effect of Environmental Pollution.

Master's Degree (Chemistry), University Diploma with Honours, Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University, Ukraine, 2008.

RESEARCH INTERESTS AND EXPERIENCE

  • molecular and biochemical markers of pollution in freshwater animals (bivalve molluscs Anodonta cygnea, Dreissena polymorpha, pulmonate mollusc - Lymnaea stagnalis and vertebrates - crucian carp Carassius carassius, carp Cyprinus carpio) under the impact of aquatic pollutants, such as transition metal ions, pesticides, nanoparticles and pharmaceuticals and others combined with environmental stressors (e.g. elevated temperature);
  • risk factors and molecular basics of ovarian pathology with signs of carcinogenesis;
  • multi-marker approach for the evaluation of environmental impacts of hydroelectric power plants;
  • evaluation of risk factors for development of thyroid malignancy in population of Ternopil region of Western Ukraine known for high copper and low iodine levels;
  • investigation of the integral endocrine activity of trace elements in the ectotherm animal models.
